On 30 June 1856, Louis Denot, son of Antoine Denot and a Souswap woman, was baptized at Fort Langley by one Father Lootens.  His godfather was a man identified only as Marineau.

It should be noted that in the handwritten French original:

• Antoine is recorded as Ant. Denot
• Louis' mother is recorded as what looks like "d'une femme Souswap"
