WHAT'S NEW

Life is starting to settle out some, but a couple things are still up in the air, thus the delay in this month's newsletter.

But more on that in a bit.

=======================================

THIS MONTH'S FEATURE: Marie-Joseph PEPIN, and her husband Charles LOISEL

Remember: double check this info before casting it in stone.

Last month we looked at Marie-Marguerite, and her husband Mathieu Hianveu dit Lafrance.

This month we look at Marie-Marguerite's little sister Marie-Joseph and her husband Charles LOISEL, and their 4 children.

Marie-Joseph (2Jean, 1Robert), the 16th -- and youngest -- of Jean PEPIN and Marguerite MOREAU's 16 children, was baptised 13 October 1721 at Charlesbourg.

Marie-Joseph married Charles LOISEL on 24 October 1746 in Charlesbourg.

Charles LOISEL, son of Louis LOISEL and second wife Marie-Anne MICHEL, was baptised 4 September 1720

Marie-Joseph and Charles had 4 children:

1. Marie-Joseph LOISEL, baptised 15 November 1748

2. Marie-Barbe LOISEL, baptised 3 October 1750

3. Charles LOISEL, baptised 1 August 1752; buried 6 September 1755

4. Marie-Madeleine LOISEL, baptised 14 August 1754; buried 15 April 1756

If you see something that doesn't quite agree with your personal family history, e-mail me and tell me about it.

RAMBLINGS FROM THE EDITOR

I suppose some of you may be wondering what's been going on.  Some of you have been emailing me regularly, and I've been real slow at answering.  Well, things should be improving but the newsletter may be kinda sporatic for the next few months.  I got thrown a couple curves on top of something I had seen coming.  The biggees are:

1) My partner of 9 years and I are going our separate ways.  Besides being chronically under-employed, he needs some to nag him; I don't nag.  I decided the fine line between compassion and stupidity was 6 years, and I can no longer support two people on $620/month -- especially when the other person is a physically fit, grown man, who is under-employed by choice.

2) I am in that wretched limbo of maybe I have cervical cancer and maybe I don't.  I have a biopsy scheduled for April 24th, which will let me know for sure one way of the other.  There was a test done on Good Friday which says I don't (text book normal results but there are still two white spots where there shouldn't be two white spots, and little white spots are a precursor to cervical cancer), but as I have never done anything "text book normal" in my entire life, I and my doctor are suspicious, hence the biopsy.  If it is cancer, it *is* being caught early enough that the cure can be effected in the doctor's office rather than in the hospital.

3) I will be moving sometime in the next few months because the 1962 mobile home I live in has been so poorly maintained (due to one of the reasons behind Number 1) it's gotten to the point I can't fix it.

I will be doing my best to keep on keeping on.  Writing and researching are two of the healthier things I do to keep what's left of my head together.  And I'm trying hard to do the healthy things right now.

I know I'll get through this -- I come from sturdy stock -- but I just wanted you guys to know I'm not ignoring anybody.  Higher Powers never give us more than we can handle and I guess it was time to stress test Lisa.

Thanks for bearing with me, Family.
